CAF has issued instructions for all quarter-final games, VAR has to be used

The TFF has already held a meeting with the Simba Sports Club attended by the club's chief executive Barbara Gonzales in preparation for ensuring that the VAR issue is successfully used in their Simba Sc match against Orlando Pirates.

VAR (Video Assistant Referee) has been involved in four major scenarios that will directly determine whether or not to be involved in either goal scoring, but also in scenarios that will involve a penalty kick, also in scenarios involving direct red cards, and probably involves an area of cognition or punishment that has probably gone to the wrong person. VAR later gets a chance to go back and reconsider and make the right decisions.

Also, in the match between Simba SC of Tanzania and Orlando Pirates of South Africa, the African Football Federation has appointed other referees for the CAF Confederations Cup match.

Central referee Haythem Guirat (Tunisia), Assistant Referee No. 1 Khalil Hassani (Tunisia), Referee No. 2 Samuel Pwadutakam (Nigeria), and reserve referee Sadok Seimi (Tunisia)

The VAR referee is Ahmed Elghadour (Egypt) and his assistant Youssef Elbosaty (Egypt)
